In March 2026, LESSO Solar officially obtained the Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) certification issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). This achievement confirms that LESSO Solar’s products fully comply with India’s latest national standards in terms of quality, safety, and reliability, providing strong regulatory assurance for the company’s continued expansion into India and the broader South Asian market.
The certification is based on the Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) implemented by BIS, representing the highest level of market entry requirements in India’s photovoltaic sector. According to the “Solar Systems, Devices and Components Goods Order (2025)” issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), all solar photovoltaic modules must obtain BIS CRS certification before entering the Indian market. Compared to previous standards, the updated CRS introduces more stringent requirements in testing protocols, product family classification, and performance thresholds. It mandates rigorous testing across representative models within different product tiers, ensuring accurate performance ratings and long-term operational reliability in real-world applications.
During the certification process, multiple LESSO Solar products demonstrated outstanding performance across safety tests, reliability assessments, and environmental durability evaluations. The certification not only meets BIS’s strict traceability requirements but also highlights the company’s strengths in R&D, manufacturing, and quality control. The certification scope covers LESSO Solar’s overseas manufacturing base in Indonesia, as well as a wide range of products including modules based on 182mm and 210R wafer sizes, with power outputs ranging from 410W to 630W. The certification is conducted in accordance with multiple international and Indian standards, including IS 14286 (PART 1/SEC 1): 2023 / IEC 61215-1-1: 2021, IS/IEC 61730-1: 2023, and IS/IEC 61730-2: 2023.
As one of the fastest-growing photovoltaic markets globally, India continues to see strong demand for high-efficiency and reliable solar modules. Securing BIS CRS certification not only grants LESSO Solar access to this dynamic market but also underscores the company’s unwavering commitment to product excellence and international standards. This milestone marks another significant step in LESSO Solar’s global expansion journey. Moving forward, the company will continue to leverage its robust manufacturing capabilities and integrated global supply chain to deliver high-quality solar solutions to customers across India and neighboring regions, contributing to the advancement of sustainable energy worldwide.
