Kenya, as a key hub in the Belt and Road Initiative, is rapidly becoming a hotspot for global renewable energy investment. In Kajado County, LESSO Solar has partnered with KEDA Ceramics, a world leader in ceramic machinery, to deliver a milestone clean energy project — an 8.57 MW ground-mounted solar power station.
KEDA’s Kenyan facility serves as its strategic production base in Africa. However, with daily electricity consumption exceeding 12,000 kWh and local tariffs at $0.15 per kWh, the factory faced mounting energy costs and sustainability challenges.

To address these needs, LESSO Solar provided a turnkey energy solution, covering everything from high-efficiency module supply to customized system design. Through in-depth site surveys and performance simulations, LESSO Solar developed a solution that ensures both energy independence and long-term cost savings.

The project integrates 14,525 units of 590W high-efficiency monocrystalline panels, 24 advanced inverters (300 kW each), and two 3600 kVA step-up transformers. Together, they create a able, reliable, and intelligent solar energy system.
Key Results:
Generates 13.1 million kWh annually
Cuts 8,200 tons of CO₂ emissions each year
Saves $1.77 million in annual electricity costs
Completed in only 14 months, demonstrating the renowned “LESSO Speed”
This project not only reduces operating costs for KEDA but also contributes to Kenya’s green development and sustainable industrial growth.
Looking forward, LESSO Solar will continue to empower businesses worldwide with premium solar modules and one-stop clean energy solutions, advancing the vision of a solar-powered future.
